Dr. Lianna Johnsonís research has been in the areas of bacterial and yeast genetics, molecular biology of gene expression and protein transport. She has extensive teaching experience, including introductory chemistry, introductory molecular biology, advanced molecular biology and introductory genetics since 1992. Dr. Johnson developed the Tutorials in Molecular Biology web site.

Dr. John Merriam's research is in the area of Drosophila genetics. He was a founding member of the Fly Base Consortium and has taught introductory genetics at UCLA since 1969. In addition he teaches an upper level course in human genetics and a upper level laboratory course in molecular genetic methods.

Student Developers:
One of the unique aspects of our development team is the incorporation of recently graduated or undergraduate students to work on the creation, design, and revision of the interactive problems. This brings together a large group with fresh ideas, different perspectives, greater diversity and a view to where students will have difficulty.
